We're all susceptible to a low immune system which can be brought on for a number of reasons, for example stress, anxiety, a hectic lifestyle, not eating the right foods or maybe just a change in weather when it gets wet, damp and cold. It's important to manage these factors to avoid the risk of recurrent colds and flu.
Allergies are the result of how 'tolerant' we are to a certain substance. In Ayurveda, this function of tolerance is the responsibility of digestion. If our digestion is impaired, we cannot metabolise and 'digest' what we are putting into ourselves which can create a toxic overload and hence an allergy. Therefore, strengthening digestion is a good strategy for treating allergies.
