Using herbs

Herbal medicines can have incredible healing effects, but in order to gain the most benefit from their therapeutic properties, herbal remedies need to be used correctly and appropriately.

Successful treatment using herbal remedies relies on clear diagnosis. Whilst Ayurvedic herbs have been used safely and effectively for centuries, we always recommend you consult a qualified herbalist.

Herbs should be taken at the recommended dosage. Dosage varies according to each treatment but it is useful to lead with a high dose of the primary herb used to treat the ailment.

It’s also important to adjust your daily routine and make relevant lifestyle adaptations, particularly with diet and exercise, in order to maximise the benefits from taking herbs.

Sustainable Herbs

As the popularity of Ayurveda and natural medicine grows, along with the massive increase in global population, the burden on the environment also increases. Many herbs are still harvested from the wild and with pressure on farmers to over-harvest, sustainable practices are not always employed.

When using herbs, ensure that they are from sustainable sources and preferably organically-certified as these have to be collected under strict guidelines.
